Federal and state, investment sales, K-1s, rentals and more than one state. Prepared and signed by an Enrolled Agent firm through a secure portal, with no office visit required.
A return is priced by what is in it, and most firms will not give you the number until the documents are already uploaded. That is how a quote over the phone becomes a much larger invoice in April. The other version of the problem is a return filed cheaply and wrongly: broker basis left at zero, a K-1 sourced to the wrong state, a mid-year move filed as a full-year residency. The IRS answers that one about eighteen months later, in writing, with interest.
You see the fee before the work starts: $650, $2,150 or $3,400 plus whatever published add-ons your return actually contains. Half at engagement, half before filing. No hourly billing at any point.
W-2s, 1099s, the 1099-B with basis detail, K-1s, closing statements, last year's return. You upload from wherever you are. Nobody drives anywhere and nothing goes in the mail.
An Enrolled Agent prepares the return and reviews it against last year before you ever see a draft. You get the return, a short summary of what moved, and next year's estimate schedule if you are on Complete or Concierge.
Extended partnership and S corp returns are due September 15. Extended C corp and individual returns are due October 15. A business return is priced on the business packages, which start at $950 for a Schedule C and $2,850 for one entity, and both already include the owner household return. We take extension work all summer, because a year-round firm is open in July.
Enrolled Agent, enrolled to represent taxpayers before the IRS in all 50 states, alongside CPAs and attorneys.
Finance training: the math behind every recommendation we make.
Brokers report proceeds with no basis on older lots. Wash sales run across two accounts and net out wrong. RSU shares sold to cover tax already have the basis sitting in the W-2, and counting it twice is the most common overpayment we find. Crypto sold across three exchanges carries no basis between them, and a day trader with thousands of lots needs the wash-sale math done rather than eyeballed. There is no published add-on for trading volume, so an account at that size is quoted upfront at intake instead of being folded into the $650. We reconcile the statements to the return before it goes out, rather than after the notice arrives.
A move mid-year, a rental in another state, a K-1 from a partnership that operates somewhere else, a snowbird who kept the house up north. We file the part-year or non-resident return, set up the credit for taxes paid so the same income is not taxed twice, and each state beyond the first is a published $100.
The taxable portion of Social Security, a 1099-R coded as a distribution when it was a rollover, an RMD taken late, qualified charitable distributions that never made it onto the return. Florida has no state income tax, which means the federal side is the only thing standing between you and the notice.
How it works: one annual fee, half paid at engagement and half before your return is filed. Everything past the package baseline is a published add-on at a fixed price, so nobody counts forms. Books, payroll and sales tax are the only monthly items, because they are the only monthly work. See the full grid and every add-on or start your intake.
Cody is an Enrolled Agent with an MBA, a solo practitioner with a small support team, working out of Lakeland, Florida.
Every client engagement is led by Cody personally. The firm stays deliberately small so the work stays deliberately careful. The person who filed your return is the person who handles the IRS.
If yours isn't here, ask it on the intake — we read every one before the first call.
The $650 is one household return, joint or single, federal and one state, with investment sales included, extensions filed as needed and a review of the filed result. Portal questions come back in five business days. Everything past that baseline is a published add-on, so nobody counts forms: each state beyond the first $100, each rental property $225, each incoming K-1 $125, a second household return $550, a Schedule C on a personal return $375. Quarterly estimates and a written plan are the step up to Complete at $2,150. If that Schedule C is your main business, you belong on the business packages instead, which start at $950 and already include your personal return.
Not yet. An extension moves the filing date, not the payment date, so interest and the failure-to-pay penalty have been running since April 15 on anything unpaid. Extended partnership and S corp returns are due September 15; extended C corp and individual returns are due October 15. Past October 15 the failure-to-file penalty starts at 5% a month, roughly ten times the failure-to-pay rate. We file the late return either way, and we would rather do it in September.
Yes. Form 1040-X for an amendment, and you generally have three years from the original due date to claim a refund on it. Prior-year work is quoted upfront per year and is never inside the annual package. An unfiled individual year is a published $500 and an unfiled business year $1,200.
Yes. Form 2555 and the foreign tax credit, FBAR on FinCEN Form 114 and Form 8938 where the thresholds are met, and 1040-NR where it applies. Americans abroad get an automatic June 15 filing date and can extend to October 15. There is no published add-on for foreign reporting, so that piece is quoted upfront at intake before we start.
No. We are an Enrolled Agent firm: we prepare returns and plan, and we are enrolled to represent taxpayers before the IRS in all fifty states. For a return the credential changes nothing about what gets filed, and the fee is flat and published rather than hourly. If a lender, an investor or a franchisor asked you for audited or reviewed financial statements, that is CPA-only attest work, we do not do it, and we will refer you to a firm that does.
Yes. Upload, review, e-sign, file, all through the portal. We are in Lakeland and work across Winter Haven, Plant City, the rest of Polk County and Tampa Bay, and with the rest of Florida by portal. We see people in person when they want that; most never need to. We are also open in July, which is the part most people are actually asking about.
Last year's return and a short list of what changed is enough for a fixed quote. From $650, published, half at engagement and half before filing. Lakeland, Winter Haven, Plant City, Polk County and Tampa Bay, and the rest of Florida by portal.
